If you’re looking to chat the main bar has several TVs with plenty of seating. If you’re looking to get down and dirty, visit the spacious dance floor upstairs. Cabaret and drag shows take place in yet another room. Take advantage of your stay in the south and enjoy a mint julep.
Iowa City, IA
What could be better than a wet boxer contest? Perhaps a fantasy hair ball, thought we doubt it. Don’t let this gay club in Iowa City fool you. They can compete with the best of big city gay clubs with their unique offerings. In addition to the aforementioned events, Studio 13 also offers a drag show dedicated to Broadway with the queens belting out favorites from “Rent”, “Chicago” and “Cabaret”.
Maine isn’t known for being too wild, but Blackstones does have a leather fetish night for those of you who want to walk on the wild side. Other than that, this neighborhood bar is pretty low-key. For you history buffs, Blackstones also holds the distinction of being the oldest gay bar in Maine. Leave the gay chat rooms for another night and hit the town at Blackstones.
